New phone credit card scam in the area, OPP says

A NEW TWIST IN CREDIT CARD FRAUD
PETERBOROUGH COUNTY – Thieves have developed a new scam to take your money through your VISA and MasterCard.
HOW IT WORKS:
The victim receives a phone call from a person identifying themselves as an investigator from the Security and Fraud Department at Visa or MasterCard.
They provide their name and badge number.
